Development of Community Legal Clinic

The Clinic commenced operations in 1981 as Simcoe Legal Services Clinic, providing legal services to persons with low income residing in Simcoe County. In 2001, its geographic area of responsibility was expanded to include the County of Haliburton and the City of Kawartha Lakes, more than 12,000 square kilometers in total and its name was changed to Community Legal Clinic - Simcoe, Haliburton, Kawartha Lakes. The Clinic's lawyers, paralegals and support staff provide legal services from its headquarters in Orillia and six satellite offices located throughout its catchment area.
