Interactive website project to become multi-clinic partnership is transitioning into a project partnership of community legal clinics. Twelve clinics have expressed an interest in joining the partnership at present.

The Community Legal Clinic - Simcoe, Haliburton, Kawartha Lakes is developing online interactive interviews that support our live services. Work has been ongoing for several years. Funding has come from Legal Aid Ontario (LAO) grants, local donations, donations-in-kind from our web developer (Principle Inc.) and the Orillia Community Development Corporation. You can see samples of our work at

Last year, we received LAO innovation funding to continue our work. This work included speaking to other clinics about joining the project. Six months later we sent an interim report to LAO in which we put forward a new plan. This included transitioning project governance to a partnership of interested clinics.

Last month, LAO approved our proposed plan and we are in the course of beginning the transition process. Our hope is that more clinics will decide to join the partnership over time. Partnering can include a range of participation from simply using project product, customized to local specifications, to involvement in content development and governance.

Last year, we contacted twenty general service clinics about joining the project as partners. Our plan is to do the same this summer with those we have yet to contact.
